Before joining One Voice, Christopher Taykalo was with Twin Cities Gay Men's Chorus for 10 seasons as the Marketing and Development Director. He has worked in Marketing and Communications at the Ordway in downtown St. Paul, as the Education Manager for the Civic Center of Greater Des Moines, and as the Community Relations Director for Disney/ABC Radio (KQRS, 93X, Drive 105, and Radio Disney) in Minneapolis. Taykalo has volunteered his time to lead the PR efforts for and serve on the board of Twin Cities Pride for 5 years and served 4 years on the Board of Directors for Pangea World Theater.

Jane Ramseyer Miller, Artistic Director

Jane Ramseyer Miller, Artistic Director

Jane Ramseyer Miller is in her 22nd year as Artistic Director for One Voice Mixed Chorus, Minnesota's GLBTA chorus and currently serves as Artistic Directorfor GALA Choruses. She holds Masters of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of Minnesota and a BA in Psychology from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. Ramseyer Miller has served as Music Director for several church choirs as well as for TransVoices, Calliope Women's Chorus, Fierra Voce Femmina, and Voices for Peace – a multi-cultural youth choir. Ramseyer Miller's compositions are published by Yelton Rhodes Music and Pilgrim Press. She especially enjoys creative community collaborations and has created choral music with 15-Head Theater Lab, The Women's Cancer Resource Center, Shakopee Women's Correctional Facility, In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre, Kairos Dance Theatre, Mu Daiko, Teens Rock the Mic and District 202 among others. In 2008 she received the GALA Choruses Legacy Award for her conducting, innovative programming and commitment to community outreach. In 2010 she was awarded the ACDA VocalEssence Award for Creative Programming and the ACDA Minnesota Advocate for Choral Excellence (ACE) Award.

Alicia Pedersen, Operations Coordinator

Alicia Pedersen, Operations Coordinator

Alicia graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, with a minor in Sociology. During her time in Eau Claire, Alicia was the Festival Director for the 48th Annual Eau Claire Jazz Festival, served on the board for Eau Claire Jazz, Inc. for two years, and worked for the Chippewa Valley Symphony Orchestra- both in the office and in the bass section. Here in the Twin Cities, she also works with the Twin Cities Jazz Festival as a Marketing Coordinator. In her free time, Alicia enjoys playing her bass, going to breweries, and attending concerts.

Mindy Eschedor, Accompanist

Mindy Eschedor, Accompanist

Mindy Eschedor is an active Twin Cities collaborative pianist whose engagements regularly include vocal coaching/accompanying, chamber music and theater work.  She has performed with such companies as the Children's Theater Company, Chanhassen Dinner Theaters, Ordway Center for Performing Arts, Nautilus Music Theater, Guthrie Theater, Interact Theatre and Minneapolis Musical Theater.  Mindy is a Music Director for Nautilus’ Wesley Balk Opera/Music Theater Institute and a frequent artist on the Rough Cuts series.  She is currently a Staff Accompanist at Macalester College and the University of St Thomas, and Director of Music at Lyndale United Church of Christ in Minneapolis.  Mindy also served as Principal Staff Accompanist at MacPhail Center for Music from 1999-2010. Her first performance with One Voice was the 25th Anniversary Concert in January, 2013.  

Gary Ruschman, OVation Music Director

Gary Ruschman, OVation Music Director

Kentucky native Gary Ruschman is an in-demand performer, conductor, and composer, with singing credits ranging from rock bands to the Prague Choral Festival, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, American Bach Soloists, and A Prairie Home Companion. He was a member of the international vocal ensemble Cantus for a decade, serving in a variety of leadership roles, including Artistic Co-Director. A co-recipient of Chorus America’s 2011 Education and Community Outreach Award, his educational work has also included in-school programs for San Francisco Opera, Portland Opera, and most recently Minnesota Opera, where he was commissioned to create a new children’s opera for the Nobles County Integration Collaborative in Worthington, MN. 

On the podium, Ruschman has recently led performances of Blue Waters Brass, Bach Society of Minnesota’s Bach with Friends baroque retreats, and was chorusmaster for Twin Cities Early Music Festival's 2015 production of Gluck’s Orfeo. Gary currently serves as Director of Music at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Saint Paul, and is a 2016-17 recipient of a Faith Partners composing grant from American Composers Forum. 

Erik Peregrine, Assistant Director

Erik Peregrine, Assistant Director

Active as a conductor and educator in the Twin Cities metro area, Erik Peregrine is the music director of the Woodbury Chorus and Orchestra, teaches vocal and instrumental ensembles at Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists, and serves as artistic consultant for Caritas Vocal Ensemble.  Previously, Erik has held posts with the South St. Paul Male Chorus, ComMUSICation, Vancouver Peace Choir, UBC Choirs, the UBC Symphony Orchestra, Lewis & Clark Wind Symphony, Lewis & Clark Capella Nova, and the Spiritus Multi-Faith Choir, which he founded and directed in its first year.  Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Erik earned his Master of Music in choral conducting from the University of British Columbia and his Bachelor of Arts in Music from Lewis & Clark College, where he took a winding path through bassoon performance, voice, and musicology before hearing his call to the podium.
